Anti-Snoring
Anti-Snoring devices
Snoring can affect you and your partner's quality of life. In some cases it can be associated with sleep apnoea, (a disturbing and potentially dangerous condition where you actually stop breathing for short periods repeatedly throughout the night).
When you are asleep, your throat muscles relax and are less effective in keeping your breathing passages open, and the air has to move faster through a reduced space. This causes vibrations of the soft tissues and the characteristic snoring noise. The anti-snoring device consists of a pair of custom made plastic mouldings which you place in your mouth at night. This pulls your lower jaw forward and holds the airway open reducing the constriction that causes the snoring noise.
Your Dentist will take an impression of your teeth which is then sent to the laboratory to make your anti-snoring device.
